Christmas Gift Guide #3 – Fragrances for her.

Hello everyone.

This is my third ‘Christmas Gift Guide‘ and I thought I’ll focus on fragrances for women in this guide. Just to give you a heads up, I am quite picky and particular about fragrances, so… What can I recommend fragrance wise?

Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto, Gift Set.

YSLManifestoGiftSet

This is the latest YSL female fragrance and I have to say I am quite impressed. Tried it out a a counter and I couldn’t stop smelling my hand. It started quite sweet, actually a little too sweet for my taste but then turned into a warmer, grown up fragrance and I would actually love to get myself a bottle.

Whilst the fragrance is available to purchase in three different size bottles, the gift set is actually very nice. I don’t care much for the metallic pouch you get in it but the the 10ml travel spray is a nice bonus added to the 50ml (middle size) eau de parfum bottle, one bottle on the dressing table or in the bathroom and another in your hand bag, perfection. The set retails for £60 but Debenhams has it discounted at the moment, as low as £51.

L’Artisan Parfumeur Mure et Musc – Eau de Toilette.

LartisanParfumaurMuresEtMusc

I’ve written a short article about this fragrance, but in short, it’s a classic, it smells of blackberry and musk and it is a great scent for autumn and winter. £78/100ml here.

Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules.

Molecule01

I have never smelt this fragrance but I have read and heard about it so much that I just can’t wait to get my hands on a bottle and try it myself. The fragrance apparently smells different on everyone and I’ve only read raves about it. I think this is a perfect present as it is still a relatively unknown product and it basically fits everyone. £64/100ml, here.

DIOR Dolce Vita – Eau de Toilette.

DIORDolceVita

This is my favourite fragrance of all time. I rather like the fact that it’s not a very popular fragrance as I like being the only one wearing it but this sadly means it never comes in a gift set. From £38, here.

There you have it, my fragrance recommendations for Christmas 2012. Have you tried any of these fragrances?

May I suggest? – A fragrance for the new season.

Hello everyone.

It’s blackberry season! So I thought I’d write a short article and recommend a little something. How about trying out a new fragrance?

Mûre et Musc is a L’Artisan Parfumeur‘s iconic perfume. The fragrance comes in a nice, heavy glass bottle, and it is quite fancy.

The perfume is a blend of blackberry, red berries and musky notes. It does smell exactly like it says it does, like blackberries and musk. I’d say it’s a classic, old fashioned smell. I like spritzing it twice on a scarf or the back of my neck. The scent fades nicely throughout the day on both skin of fabric.

Now, it is rather strong so maybe some people won’t like it to much but for those who like strong smells, a little goes a long way. If you do like the smell of blackberries but prefer lighter fragrances, maybe try the Eau de Toilette instead of the Eau de Parfum.

You can find the perfume here.

What’s your Autumn perfume?
