It’s cheap, but does it work?

Hello everyone.

Another article related to face product, if you’ve not noticed yet, I love foundations and concealers. Let’s talk about the Collection 2000 (just Collection now) Lasting Perfection Concealer.

I’ve watched many YouTube beauty videos where this product was featured and thought I’d pick one up and see what’s all the fuss about.

The product comes in a  container just like a standard lip gloss ones, a clear plastic tube with a sponge applicator. It’s nothing special but the sponge applicator end can come in very handy especially when in a hurry.

I picked up the shade Medium which is very light, there is only one shade darker than this one and it isn’t really that Deep in colour. I can’t see anyone with dark medium skin tone being able to use this, unless you are going for a Kim Kardashian under eye concealer effect… Have a look at the colour on the picture below.

The product isn’t fragranced but it smells odd, the bad kind of odd. The best way I can describe it is that it smells like chemicals, the smell doesn’t stay on the skin though.

The consistency of the product is quite thick and a little dry, I was actually quite worried it might be quite hard to blend. It didn’t work very well on my wrist, the concealer sat on top of the creases in my skin and only stayed at the surface. Another weird thing is that it didn’t cover my veins very well, I can still see the green coloring peeking through (see picture below).

Thankfully though, the product performed a lot better on my face.

Because of its thick and somehow dry consistency, I avoided applying the product on my under eye area as most thicker products crease there (and this one did too when I tested it there). I mainly use it around my nose, and on dark marks on my face.

Collection claims this concealer will last sixteen hours, I have not wore it for that long but I can say that it did sit on dry patches of my skin (around the nose) after a few hours and I don’t usually wear makeup for more than eight hours. But then again, I’ve not found a concealer that stays perfectly put on my skin for eight hours, not even a high end one.

This concealer is sold for a little more than £4, this is avery big plus and I have to say I am pretty happy with the way it performs considering its RRP.

You can buy the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer at Boots in store or online. I’d advise adding a little more than £3 to this price and getting the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer instead though…
