New Product Alert.

Hello everyone.

I’ve just heard and read about a new product which I am rather excited about and I thought I’d let you know about it, if you haven’t heard already!

I’m sure everyone knows about Urban Decay‘s two bestselling palettes, Naked and Naked 2, well I certainly have. I own neither and for a few reasons : I’m don’t wear eyeshadows too often, those palettes have only a few matte colours and I probably would only use a couple shadows from these palettes.

Well my prayers have been answered. A palette with mostly nude colours with a matte finish is being released very soon! Urban Decay Naked Basics.

urbanDecayNakedBasicsPalette

So this palette is small and compact, contains six shadows (five of which are matte) and it is going to retail at £20 ($27 in the US).

The colours included in the palette :

Venus – soft, off-white. This is meant to be a demi-matte colour but it looks shimmery to me from what I’ve seen so far.

Foxy – very light yellow/beige. This colour is available in the Naked 2 palette or can be purchased as an individual eye shadow.

Walk of Shame – very light pinky nude. This colour can be bought to fit the Urban Decay Build Your Own Palette)

Naked2 – rosy taupe. New colour.

Faint – warm, dusty brown. New colour.

Crave – deepest, darkest brown/black. New colour.

Whilst the palette will be coming out on 20th December in the UK, it’s actually already out in the US and so a few reviews and swatches are available online. I am very excited about this palette and I am looking forward to get my hands on one as soon as it’s launched here.

If you’d like to read an in depth review, see some swatches and a tutorial, I’d recommend you head to temptalia.com.

Are you excited about this new product?

Wish List #2 – Foundations and Tinted Moisturizers.

Hello everyone.

I’ve been thinking of foundations and tinted moisturizers I’d like to try and since I don’t have much to write about now, I thought I’d make a wish list.

M.A.C. Face and Body Foundation. This foundation is one of M.A.C. Cosmetics’ bestseller and it seems to be a must-have. It has a sheer coverage but can be layered up to a full coverage apparently. I actually went and got a sample of this product. I was matched to the colour C3 but I suspect I’m a C2 instead.

DIOR DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Radiant Foundation. This is the new DIOR foundation. I’ve already picked up a sample of this one as it has a dewy finish and again I read some good reviews. I picked up the colour 31 and it seems to be a good match, I’ll see how I get on.

Chantecaille Just SKin Tinted Moisturizer. I love ViviannaDoesMakeup YouTube channel and her blog and she raves about this product so much I need it! I decided that I will pick one up the next time I go to London, I don’t want to order it online and risk getting the wrong shade.

Ellis Faas SKin Veil. I don’t know if it’s the packaging but I am actually very curious to try this foundation and other products of the range. It seems a little ridiculous though… Have you tried it?

Maybe you can tell me which ones are actually worth buying?

Same cream different packaging?

Hello everyone.

I promised a product comparison in my ‘September Favourites‘ and I thought I’d write it today. I am sorry if this article seems a bit pointless but I suppose it is aimed to people who use the original version of the product and are worried about getting the new one.

I’ve been using Estée Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme for years and when I needed a new pot, I saw the brand had a new version of the product and so I bought the DayWear Oil Free Creme. I was a little worried it wouldn’t perform as well as the previous one but I have to say I love both of them.

The noticeable difference is the packaging, the new tub (left on the photograph) is bigger, heavier, bulkier than the original version (right on the photograph). You probably won’t be able to tell from this picture but the newer version has a greener colour than the old one. I can’t say that I prefer  one packaging to the other, they are both nice.

Now for the actual creams, I can’t tell any difference in texture or fragrance. They both are thick and has a very fresh cucumber fragrance, I love that smell and I am absolutely delighted they haven’t changed it. They both have the same colour too, very pale green.

I use both moisturizers (not together) in the morning on top of my serum, then let them sink in before applying my foundation. Both of the creams apply the same way really, they are non greasy.

The new version I have is oil-free (suitable for all skin types) whilst the old one I used to buy was for dry skin. I did notice my YSL Teint Touche Éclat foundation was getting shiny during the day but not so much now that I only use the new version of the moisturizer, and a bit less of it as well.

Another good thing is that the new Oil-Free Creme has a SPF 25, whilst the previous one has a SPF 15. There is another new version too actually, the  DayWear Moisturizer which has a SPF 15 and is designed for normal/combination skins.

It might feel a bit like an odd statement but I cant actually tell if there is any differences between both creams apart from the packaging and what’s written on it. I suppose it is good news for anyone like me who liked the old one as the new one performs just as well.

Now I do love both of them but I can’t only say good things about this moisturizer. I’d kind of wondering if they haven’t just changed the packaging and started charging more money for an ‘improved‘ version… I used to buy this product for as low as £30 a while again, it now retails for £39! If it is really the same product, only repackaged then this is very cheeky…

Wish List #1 – Makeup Tools.

Hello everyone.

I have been stuck in bed with a cold for a couple of days now and that’s given me plenty of time to lust over many products! I thought I’d cheer myself up and make a wish list of products I’m hoping to try.

I didn’t use to apply makeup with brushes until a few month back, I was more of a Beauty Blender kind of girl (still am a little bit). After trying a few brushes I want to try them all! Here is a list of the ones I have my eyes on :

Louise Young LY34 – Super Foundation brush. It looks like a classic foundation brush but it isn’t flat, this one is round and quite full. I want to see it in the flesh before buying but it looks quite big and nothing like anything I’ve tried yet. Oh and it is Louise Young‘s bestselling brush apparently.

Jemma Kidd Pro Brush 10 – Pointed Cream Blush/Foundation. I’ve first heard of this brush on FleurDeForce YouTube channel. Again, I haven’t seen in it the flesh but it looks very similar to the one above. I want to try it because of the pointy tip, I’m sure it would be great to go around the nose with this one.

M.A.C. 163 Flat Contour Brush. It’s just came out with the new Face and Body collection and it looks great! I need to get my hands on this brush and one of those Pro Sculpting Cream bronzers. I’ve started to contour this past summer, I need to keep exploring this.

DIOR BACKSTAGE Make-Up Full Coverage Fluid Foundation Brush. This one reminds me of the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush which I reviewed here. I really like the Shiseido one but wasn’t too keen on its short handle, well it looks like the DIOR one has a long handle. A bit pricey at £36 though.

Other tools and brushes.

Louise Young LY24A – Superfine Liner. I’m a fan of very little on the eyes, I just like having a fine line of gel liner for definition and that’s all I usually go for for my everyday look. The finer the line the most natural the eye.

Shiseido The Makeup Eyelash Curler. I’m just in the market for a new curler and this one is highly rated by many beauty bloggers and YouTubers.

The list could go on and on but I think this is quite enough. Maybe one of these items will make an appearance in one of my future hauls, who knows?

What do you think of this wish list?
